2011 was our first full year competing – Below is our final rankings for the year and some of our accomplishments
Pork – 51 out of 5560 teams
Brisket 74 out of 5560 teams
Chicken – 143 out of 5560 teams
Ribs - 199 out of 5560 teams
Overall – 152 out of 5560 teams
In 2011 there were 14,703 Briskets turned in at sanctioned KCBS contests – 22 of the 14,703 briskets earned a PERFECT SCORE – GQue is proud to be one of those teams!
In 2011 we cooked in 15 contests and had 39 Top 10 placements across Chicken, Ribs, Pork, Brisket and Sauce categories
In 2012 we did four contests as we spent some of the summer grooming our newest additions Jack and Jenna for the competition circuit
We are proud of making it through to the regional finals of Sam’s Club Series
We have plans to fire back up the number of events we do this year – So far we have competed in 3 events taking Reserve Grand Champion in all 3 events. Including a Reserve Grand Championship in the Regional Finals of the Sams Club Series securing our spot in the finals this fall.
We also just won Grand Champion of the Honky Tonk BBQ in North Platte NE. Out of 38 teams we came out on top an secured a spot in the American Royal Invitational in the fall
